Pear-shaped links are used for towing chain arrangements. The standard usage for pear-shaped links is to connect a common link to another common link with a larger diameter. In some cases, if class approved, you can use it to connect the common link of your anchor chain to the anchor shackle. The closing system makes it ideal for use with larger chain diameters.
